Like the Magi who once brought gifts to the Infant Jesus, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the clergy and volunteers of the Orthodox Church of Moldova offered gifts to hundreds of socially vulnerable children and families throughout the country, within the framework of the philanthropic campaign “At Christmas, You Become Better!”, 7th edition. The campaign is organized and coordinated this year as well by the Synodal Department for Social Activity and Charity, with the aim of bringing hope, comfort, and joy into the hearts of its beneficiaries. In this context, social and philanthropic activities were carried out in several parishes across the country, on the occasion of the Feast of the Nativity of the Lord and that of Saint Basil the Great.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Holiness Metropolitan Vladimir, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on friday, January 9, 2026, on the feast of the Holy Martyr and Archdeacon Stephen, at the “Nativity of the Lord” Monastery in the village of Zabriceni, Edinet district.

When You were baptized in the Jordan, O Lord, the worship of the Holy Trinity was revealed; for the voice of the Father bore witness to You, calling You His beloved Son, and the Spirit, in the form of a dove, confirmed the truth of His word. On the second day of the great feast of the Nativity of the Lord, when the Synaxis of the Mother of God is celebrated, on January 8, 2026, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and of All Moldova, was in the midst of the parishioners of the Metropolitan Cathedral “The Nativity of the Lord” in the capital.

On Thursday, 15 January, on the feast day of the Venerable Saint Seraphim of Sarov, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, made an archpastoral visit to the Church of the Venerable Saint Seraphim of Sarov, located on Ceucari Street, in the Poșta Veche neighborhood, Rîșcani District of the capital.

His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, read on Wednesday evening the third part of the Canon of Repentance of St. Andrew of Crete at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord in Chișinău.

“We have fallen ill through sin; let us be healed through repentance. Yet repentance without fasting is powerless. Therefore, set yourself aright before God through fasting.” (Saint Basil the Great)
