By the mercy of God, this year as well, despite the existing difficulties in the Near East, the Metropolis of Moldova has succeeded in making all the necessary preparations for bringing the Holy Light from Jerusalem.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, numerous clergy and faithful gathered at the “Holy Great Martyr George” Church in Chițcanii Vechi village, Telenești district, to accompany on his final earthly journey the newly departed Archpriest Mitred Vladimir Lai.
His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Metropolitan Cathedral “Nativity of the Lord” in the capital, the Divine Liturgy dedicated to the great Feast of the Annunciation.
“Confirming the universal resurrection before Thy Passion, Thou didst raise Lazarus from the dead, O Christ God. Therefore, like the children, we also bear the symbols of victory and cry out to Thee, the Conqueror of death: Hosanna in the highest! With the blessing of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, the regular assembly of clergy from several deaneries of the Chișinău Eparchy took place during the month of March, as follows:
On the Fifth Sunday of Great Lent, dedicated to Saint Mary of Egypt, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great at the Metropolitan Cathedral “Nativity of the Lord” in Chișinău.
On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the “Saint Demetrius” Cathedral in Orhei, the general assembly of the clergy of the Orhei Vicariate was held, a gathering dedicated to the analysis and strengthening of pastoral activity.
With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, on the evening of the Third Sunday of Great Lent — the Sunday of the Holy Cross — His Grace Bishop Filaret officiated the Akathist of the Holy Passion at the Metropolitan Cathedral “The Nativity of the Lord” in Chișinău.
