With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, on the evening of Sunday, March 8, 2026, His Grace Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Vicar of the Metropolis of Moldova, officiated the Passion Service at the Metropolitan Cathedral “The Nativity of the Lord” in Chișinău.
On the Second Sunday of Great Lent, dedicated to Saint Gregory Palamas, with the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, His Grace Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Metropolitan Vicar, celebrated the Holy and Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Cathedral “The Nativity of the Lord” in Chișinău. Concelebrating with His Grace was the assembly of clergy serving the Cathedral.
Great are the deeds of faith! In the fountain of flames, as in refreshing waters, the Holy Martyr Theodore rejoiced. For being wholly consumed by fire, he was offered as a pleasing bread to the Most Holy Trinity. Through his prayers, O Christ God, save our souls. (Troparion, Tone 4)
On this day of profound remembrance, marking 34 years since the War on the Dniester, we bow our heads in humility before the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova. We deeply regret that such a war occurred in the history of our country, bringing pain, tears, and suffering to so many families.
