“But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)

His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the Third Sunday after Pentecost, on June 21, 2026, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord in Chișinău.

Today’s Gospel is centered around one essential verse: “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). In vain do we labor day and night for the things that are temporary. In vain do we run endlessly after things of no true value, things that pass away together with us. At times, we no longer find rest; we neglect the holy feast days, we do not make time to attend church, we do not pray at home, we do not read holy books, we do not visit the sick, and we no longer remember the swiftness of death or the judgment of God. We all desire more. We all dream of wealth, honor, health, and a happy life. Yet almost all forget Christian deeds, prayer, forgiveness, repentance, and God Himself.

The Holy Fathers call us to return once again to God, to prayer, and to the practice of good deeds. God is waiting for us. Let us no longer take pride in our own understanding, nor place our hope in our own hands or in this passing life. Rather, let us believe only in God, place our hope in Him alone, worship Him alone, attend the Church of Christ more frequently, and through repentance and a truly Christian life cultivate the field of our salvation.
