The youth volunteer group “Venerable Confessor Sofian of Antim”, operating within the Synodal Department for Social Activity and Charity of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, organized on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Chișinău, an evening of traditional Christmas carols, held in the presence of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova.
The meeting between the young people and their spiritual father was an opportunity for communion and a return to the pure joy of the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, a joy experienced by each of them since childhood, during the blessed days of Christmas.
In a warm, family-like atmosphere filled with deep spiritual emotion—where time itself seemed to stand still—His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir shared with the young people memories from his childhood. He spoke about how Christmas was celebrated in the past, about ancestral traditions and customs, about the family in which he was raised, as well as about the places and people who shaped his spiritual formation and his pastoral and missionary service at the head of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
Throughout the evening, the young volunteers performed a selection of traditional carols, creating a bridge between past and present and proclaiming, through song, the joy of the Nativity of the Savior. At the same time, they addressed heartfelt wishes to the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, wishing him health, peace, and God’s help in the new year.
The event once again highlighted the importance of preserving Christian traditions and maintaining a living bond between young people and the Church, as well as the role of Christmas carols as a testimony of faith and an expression of the joy of salvation brought to the world through the Lord’s Nativity.
