The Metropolis of Moldova provided assistance to refugees from Ukraine accommodated at the Placement Center for Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities in Chișinău.
Following a request from the administration of the Placement Center for Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities in Chișinău Municipality, the Metropolis of Moldova offered material support intended for the 27 refugees from Ukraine currently hosted within the institution.
The assistance consisted of essential goods necessary for improving the living conditions of the beneficiaries, including all-in-one desktop computers, water heaters to ensure hot water supply in the shared bathrooms, as well as sets of basic hygiene products.
In the official letter addressed to His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the administration of the Center expressed sincere gratitude for the responsiveness and involvement of the Orthodox Church of Moldova in supporting displaced persons and refugees.
According to the institution’s leadership, the donated goods will significantly contribute to improving the living conditions of the refugees and will provide them with important moral support during this difficult period of their lives.
The Metropolis of Moldova continues to respond to requests coming from social institutions and to carry out philanthropic activities in support of those who are suffering, bearing witness through concrete deeds to the Savior Christ’s call to love and mercy toward one’s neighbor.
