On Friday, June 19, 2026, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, celebrated the Akathist Service of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God before the Icon of the Mother of God of Hîrbovăț — Protectress of Moldova — at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord in Chișinău, the principal place of worship of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
During the service, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, together with the clergy of the Cathedral and the faithful in attendance, offered prayers to the Mother of God, asking for her protection over our country, peace throughout the world, the strengthening of Christian families, health for those who are suffering, and divine help for all those who run with faith under her holy Protection.
At the conclusion of the service, the faithful received the archpastoral blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova and were encouraged to keep alive their prayer to the Mother of God and to entrust themselves to her maternal protection in all the trials of life.
The Akathist Service of the Protection of the Mother of God, before the Icon of the Mother of God of Hîrbovăț, is celebrated every Friday at 07:00 a.m.
