His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir: Eternal Gratitude to the Heroes of the War on the Dniester

22

On this day of profound remembrance, marking 34 years since the War on the Dniester, we bow our heads in humility before the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova. We deeply regret that such a war occurred in the history of our country, bringing pain, tears, and suffering to so many families.

With gratitude, we commemorate the fallen soldiers who selflessly fought in defense of our people and our values. We keep their memory alive in our hearts and in the prayers of the Church, entrusting their souls to the mercy of God.

We are also fully grateful to the servicemen who are still among us today. We rejoice that they are with us and thank them for their courage, dedication, and spirit of sacrifice. We pray that God grant them health, strength, and protection in all their service, for the good and peace of our country.

In these times still marked by tensions and trials, we pray for peace in our country, the Republic of Moldova, and throughout the world—for unity, understanding, and reconciliation among people. May God grant rest to those who have fallen asleep and bestow blessing, peace, and hope upon all who still carry in their hearts the wounds of those days.

Eternal Gratitude to the Heroes of the War on the Dniester.

† VLADIMIR
Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova
