His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the first Sunday after the Nativity of the Lord at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the in Chișinău.
Praying together with the Primate were Protopriest Vadim Cheibaș, Metropolitan Secretary and Ecclesiarch of the Cathedral, along with a host of priests and deacons.
The Sunday after the Nativity of the Lord is the last Sunday of the calendar year according to the Julian Calendar (Old Style).
The Church has ordained that on this Sunday, during the Divine Liturgy, the Gospel passage concerning the Flight of the Holy Family into Egypt is read.
Today’s divine service concluded with a Christmas carol concert performed by the “Cristalini” Choir, conducted by Tatiana Panaghiu; the “Vivace” Choir, conducted by Tatiana Panaghiu, with concertmaster Ștefan Luțenco; and the “Alexei Stârcea” Choir, conducted by Viola Julea.
At the end, His Eminence expressed his gratitude to all those involved in this beautiful event for proclaiming the good news of the Nativity of the Lord, offering each participant a gift.
