His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the funeral service for the newly reposed Archpriest Daniel Grigori

On Saturday, 21 February 2026, with the blessing of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, His Grace Bishop Nicolae of Ceadîr-Lunga, Vicar of the Diocese of Cahul and Comrat, celebrated the Holy and Divine Liturgy at the Monastery of St. Theodore Tiron (Ciuflea) in the capital.

The divine service was offered for the newly reposed Archpriest Daniel Grigori, military chaplain and parish priest of the Church of St. Great Martyr George in the Telecentru district of the capital.

Concelebrating with the hierarch was an assembly of priests and deacons from the Synodal Sector for Pastoral Activity within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Army, and Law Enforcement Bodies.

The funeral service was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova; His Eminence Anatolie, Archbishop of Cahul and Comrat; His Grace Nicolae, Bishop of Ceadîr-Lunga, Eparchial Vicar; together with the gathered clergy who joined in prayer.

In his address, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir spoke with deep compassion and consolation to the grieving Grigori family, to the relatives, and to all those present, emphasizing that the temporary separation from our loved ones is among the most painful trials of life, yet our hope remains steadfast in Christ Who is Risen. His Eminence urged all to keep alive the memory of Father Daniel through prayer, good deeds, and steadfastness in faith, affirming that the soul of the departed rests in the mercy and love of God. At the same time, the hierarch encouraged the family to receive this trial with humility and trust, praying that the Good Lord grant peace to the soul of His departed servant and pour forth comfort and strength upon those who remain in sorrow.

Father Daniel was laid to rest in the courtyard of the church he built with love for God and for the faithful.

May Christ, Who is Risen from the dead, grant him rest among the righteous!
