On Monday, January 19, 2026, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, held a meeting with the delegation of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), led by Mr. Maximos Charakopoulos, Member of the Hellenic Parliament and Secretary General of the IAO.
The meeting took place at the Metropolitan Palace in Chișinău. In his welcoming address, Metropolitan Vladimir expressed his appreciation for the activity of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy and for its interest in the ecclesiastical life of the Republic of Moldova.
The dialogue focused on the role of the Orthodox Church in contemporary society, interparliamentary cooperation within the Orthodox world, and the promotion of shared Christian values. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of strengthening ties between representative institutions of the Orthodox world, as well as on the need to support dialogue and unity in the face of current challenges.
The visit of the IAO delegation to Chișinău is part of the official program taking place from January 18 to 20, 2026.
