On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, numerous clergy and faithful gathered at the “Holy Great Martyr George” Church in Chițcanii Vechi village, Telenești district, to accompany on his final earthly journey the newly departed Archpriest Mitred Vladimir Lai.
The funeral service was officiated, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, by the Vicar of the Metropolis, His Grace Siluan, Bishop of Orhei.
Before the service, His Grace conveyed to the grieving family, to the spiritual children, and to all those who knew and esteemed Father Vladimir, the message of consolation and encouragement of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova.
At this hour of temporal separation and passage to incorruptible eternity, the words of the Holy Apostle Paul to his disciple Timothy resound with particular strength:
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7–8).
May our Lord Jesus Christ grant rest to his soul in the light, peace, and love of the Most Holy Trinity!
Eternal memory to him from generation to generation!
