With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, on the Third Sunday of the Holy and Great Lent, also known as the Sunday of the Holy Cross, His Grace Bishop Filaret of Căpriana, Vicar of the Metropolis of Chișinău and All Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great at the Metropolitan Cathedral “Nativity of the Lord” in the municipality of Chișinău.
The Third Sunday of the Holy and Great Lent is dedicated to the veneration of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord. On this day, the Holy Cross is brought forth and placed in the center of the church for the faithful to venerate, offering spiritual strengthening to those engaged in the ascetic struggle of the Fast and reminding all of the saving sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ and of His victory over sin and death.
Through the veneration of the Holy Cross, the faithful are encouraged to strengthen their faith, to endure the trials of life with patience, and to follow Christ on the path of humility, repentance, and love, placing their hope in the help and mercy of God.
