With the blessing of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, Rector of the Orthodox Theological Academy of Moldova, on Monday, June 29, 2026, His Eminence Ioan, Archbishop of Soroca and Drochia, presided over the examination committee for the defense of bachelor’s theses at the higher theological educational institution, the Orthodox Theological Academy of Moldova.
Members of the examination committee included Very Reverend Archimandrite Nectarie (Gherman), Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Academy; Archpriest Alexandru Comendant, Dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology; and Archpriest Dr. Victor Mihalaș, professor at the institution.
The candidates who defended their bachelor’s theses demonstrated thorough academic preparation, expressing their desire to apply the knowledge accumulated throughout the years in the pastoral-liturgical, missionary, educational-cultural, and social-philanthropic ministry of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
In his congratulatory message, the hierarch expressed gratitude to Father Vice-Rector Nectarie and to the teaching staff for their educational work carried out over the years. Addressing the graduates of the Class of 2026, who obtained the degree of Bachelor of Theology, he wished them to dedicate themselves fully and sacrificially to the mission of the Church, bearing witness with steadfastness to “The Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6).
