On Friday, June 19, following the celebration of the Akathist Service of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God before the wonderworking Icon of the Mother of God of Hîrbovăț – Protectress of Moldova, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, officiated the memorial Litia service for the newly departed servant of God, Victor Țurcanu, benefactor of several holy churches within the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
During the service, prayers were offered for the repose of his soul among the company of the righteous, as the Church gave thanks to God for the life and work of the departed, who throughout the years supported the construction and beautification of numerous churches.
Furthermore, with the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, the Divine Liturgy and the Funeral Service (Prohod) will be celebrated by His Eminence Vichentie, Metropolitan of Tashkent and Uzbekistan. This service will take place within the context of the funeral rites and the Christian commemoration of the faithful servant who has fallen asleep in the Lord.
