With the blessing and pastoral care of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the cycle of spiritual evenings dedicated to young people and the general public began at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chișinău. These events are organized during the Nativity Fast by the Synodal Department for Social Activity and Charity of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. The first meeting took place on Monday, 8 December 2025, at 7:00 p.m., with Fr. Mihail Tihonov, a cleric of the church “The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist” in Chișinău, as the guest speaker.
In the Festive Hall of the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, the priest delivered a lecture entitled: “‘All things are lawful for me, but not all things are beneficial’ (1 Cor. 6:12) — freedom or illusion? How does Christ free us from addiction?” His message led the audience into a profound reflection on discernment, inner freedom, and the search for God in the context of contemporary challenges. The meeting proved to be fruitful, offering light and answers to the spiritual struggles of those present.
At the conclusion, Hieromonk Macarie Crudu, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Social Activity and Charity and of the Public Association “Faith and Mercy,” expressed gratitude to the guest speaker on behalf of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir and the participants, appreciating both the lecture and his presence.
The spiritual evenings aim to provide a space for reflection and spiritual renewal, especially during the fasting period, when the faithful are called to prayer, obedience, and a deeper experience of faith.
The next meeting will take place on Monday, 15 December 2025, with Abbess Anastasia, the superior of the “Holy Trinity” Monastery in the village of Glinjeni, Fălești District, as the guest speaker. The Abbess will deliver the lecture “The Path Back to the Light: Returning to Christ After the Wounds of Life,” followed by a question-and-answer session.
We warmly invite all those who wish to partake in the spiritual experience and witness-bearing words of Abbess Anastasia.
